For all we know, the death of older Hamlet could have been the greatest thing to happen to that coutnry. Hamlet has a characteristic of jumping right into things without thinking and then messing everything up. Did he ever stop to think maybe the ghost was just speaking was just what he WANTED to hear instead of what was actually said? No, probably not.
